Erewash Borough Council is inviting applications from community and voluntary organisations, registered charities and social enterprises who are based in Erewash and/or provide services for local people in the Borough.

Please note that if you submitted an application earlier this year, your new application must be for a project / activity which is significantly different.

Should you wish to be considered for a grant please complete and return the attached Application Form and Grants Checklist by 5pm, 4 October 2013, late applications will not be accepted.

Do you need help completing your application?

Please read the attached Small Grants Funding Policy 2013-2016 to ensure that you are eligible to apply and that we can fund your project.  Also attached are Help Notes which guide you through the form filling process.

Should you require further help you can book a half hour appointment, please contact me using the details below.  The following sessions are available:-

*      Wednesday 11 September at Long Eaton Town Hall (9am - noon)

*      Thursday 26 September at Ilkeston Town Hall (1pm - 3.30pm)

Should you have mobility difficulties it may be possible to arrange an appointment at a different venue, please contact me to discuss your requirements.

Assessing your application

Every application that we receive is scored and is considered on its own merit alongside other applications.  The Awards Panel do not use prior knowledge of your organisation or your project so it is essential that you complete the application form fully.  The minimum threshold that applications will be considered is 41%.  The Help Notes detail which questions are scored and also what you should include to achieve as high a score as possible.

The application process

Within one week of receipt of your application you will be sent an acknowledgement.  If you do not receive an acknowledgement it is your responsibility to check that we have received your application.  Once your application is received it is considered final so please ensure that you complete it fully.

You will be notified by post of the Awards Panel decision by 25 October 2013, decisions will not be provided verbally.  If your application is successful you will need to sign a 'Conditions of Award' form and return this to me prior to funds being released.

If you have been awarded funding previously by the Council you will need to return your Monitoring and Evaluation form for the previous project before you can submit a new application to us.

We will accept your application by the following methods:

*        Post - send your application to the address below.

*        Email - send your application to<>.  Please ensure that you state 'SMALL GRANT APPLICATION 2013/14' in the subject line and PDF or compress the file to minimise the file size.

*        Hand delivery - you can leave your application form at either Long Eaton or Ilkeston Town Hall.

Further help

Should you feel this funding stream is not the most appropriate for your project and would like help with locating alternative funding please contact me.  I can, in most cases, produce a report for you of potential alternative funding sources which you may prefer to bid into.

Should you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact me and I look forward to receiving your application.  Good luck!
